|This very gentle technique releases tension & strain patterns from the fascial system of the body. This technique is performed with the client lying clothed on a massage table. When this very relaxing treatment is over, you will feel increased vitality, freedom of movement, & mental clarity.
As the structure surrounding the brain and spinal cord, the craniosacral system is in a central position to affect health and disease. And as therapists trained to use touch to boost well-being, you’re in an ideal position to effectively integrate
Craniosacral Therapy into your practices. You’ll learn how to develop the light touch palpation skills and you’ll practice performing whole-body evaluations using the
Craniosacral rhythm as a guide.
Your brain & spinal cord float in a golden liquid called Cerebrospinal Fluid
(CSF). CSF nourishes, supports, and removes wastes & toxins as it circulates around and through your Central Nervous System (CNS, brain & spinal cord).
To accommodate and augment this flow, the bones of your skull, as well as your sacrum (tailbone) gently move in
and out 6 to 12 times per minute. Anything which impedes these motions reduces the circulation of CSF and prevents the CNS from operating 100%
effectively. CSF is contained in a tough, waterproof layer of connective tissue called the Dural Membrane. This membrane forms a layer over the inner surface of the bones of the cranium and of the sacrum, a well as a tube which protects the spinal cord.
Mis-positioning of any of these bones, or abnormal tension patterns in the Dural Membrane impede the flow of CSF and can impair the functioning of your brain & spinal cord. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) gently assists in the restoration of normal movement and function to your Craniosacral System and to the fascia throughout your body.
Fascia is a special form of connective tissue which forms a series of sheets and tubes that surround and support everything in your body. Thus there is a fascial sheath for each bone, organ, and vessel within you, all separated by a thin layer of extremely slippery fluid to decrease friction as the parts within slide past one another. If you peel back the skin of a piece of chicken, the filmy layer between the skin & the meat is fascia. The Dural Membrane is a specialized type of fascia & is directly connected to the fascial system throughout the body via sleeves which surround the spinal nerves as they exit the spine between your vertebrae.
Pull, tears, or adhesions (in which the fluid between the layers has been squeezed out so that they are sticking to each other rather than sliding smoothly across each other) can impede movement of the Craniosacral System and thereby impair the
functioning of your brain and spinal cord.
Craniosacral Therapy locates these pulls, tears, or adhesions and releases them throughout your body and skull, restoring, vitality, optimum
function, and vibrant health.

Craniosacral Therapy is performed on a massage table
with the client fully clothed, using very light
pressures (about the weight of a nickel). Treatment
sessions generally last 60 to 90 minutes. Often, relief
is immediate or readily apparent by the second or third
||Thanks very much for your wonderful treatment last night. I came
in a total angry wreck. During the treatment so many things came up after
you released the pelvis. It appeared if a myriad of concerns and problems
were released. When I got home, I walked Hercules around the block.
Could not get to sleep right away...my mind raced and was so stimulated it
made sleeping a bit difficult. This morning I felt refreshed and not so angry. The work isn't as
overwhelming and I am not so resentful. Thanks for a very therapeutic session.
it's Starting to Stick, it’s Time to Call Nick!
